2024 MTA Regional Meeting - Frankenmuth

When:  Sep 24, 2024 from 09:00 to 16:15 (ET)
As an MTA member, you belong to the largest community of local government officials in the state. Don’t miss this opportunity to connect with that community, MTA staff and other municipal experts to discuss the latest issues affecting townships at our fall Regional Meeting series. This full-day event provides the inside scoop on issues impacting townships in one day, at one location, near you! The event is held from 9 a.m. to 4:15 p.m. and includes a continental breakfast and lunch.

The morning features an insightful general session with MTA legal counsel shedding light on the latest in renewable energy reform and implementation of Public Act 233 of 2023, which takes effect in November. We’ll also explore legislative efforts underway in Lansing—and how they impact your township—as we move into the lame-duck season. Also included is our 2024 Vendor Showcase, where you'll have the chance to meet and chat with vendors of products and services that can help you improve your township's effectiveness and efficiency.

The afternoon features two breakout sessions, offering two topics each. Topic include:

We’ll unravel a broad range of activities and actions taken by townships that are unlawful or present legal pitfalls. Save your township time (and money!) by learning how to avoid these missteps, blind spots and traps. Presented by MTA Legal Counsel, Bauckham, Thall, Seeber, Kaufman & Koches, PC
